When you are based in Sunbury upon Thames, a busy London suburb, you wouldn’t think getting a grid connection would be tricky. However, the Feltham & Twickenham Piscastorial Society who have run an angling club at Sivyers Lake for 40 years, have never been able to get a grid connection due to prohibitive access issues.

For the last two decades, the club has grown their membership to 1000 members with the lake supporting over £100,000 worth of fish. The whole facility was powered solely by a diesel generator which was both expensive to run and noisy for their neighbours.

The farm near Daventry was well established for arable and cattle farming but the owner had always held a vision of building a house there as well. Once the planning was established it soon became apparent that a grid connection was going to be expensive, so he started to investigate his alternative options and chose ISO Energy to help him with this.

Rail Tunnel Hybrid Power Container - Case Study

Designed and built by Energy Solutions this containerised hybrid power unit addressed a requirement from their client to provide a robust power source for their service teams working in isolated tunnel areas. The unit needed to reduce carbon emissions in the immediate work areas, an issue when working purely with diesel generators. The hybrid power unit supplies power for tunnel operative undertaking maintenance work via a bespoke lithium battery system. The JCB generator within the unit provides the power to recharge the battery bank at the end of a shift and in the event of a particular high load or extended work period.
