The American Battery Solutions E48V-2.0 is a 48 volt 2kWh Lithium battery with a built-in BMS, protection contactor, and CAN communication.
The ALLIANCE Intelligent Battery Series™ battery packs are designed as scalable building blocks, offering versatility across a variety of uses needing robust, safe, and high-performing lithium-ion batteries.
With a weight of only 9.7 kG for 2 kWh of capacity, it offers very high energy density for applications where weight can be critical, such as van conversion projects, where payloads are critical - or for equipment that has to be hand transported / lifted.
E48V-2.0 - The 48 V battery systems, part of the ALLIANCE Intelligent Battery Series™, are highly efficient and serve a variety of uses. The E48-2.0 battery pack features a scalable architecture in 2kWh increments designed for light electric vehicles and new OEM designs to optimize packaging space and vehicle range. CAN bus for OEM (CANOpen or CAN2.0A). The battery can also be controlled (on / off) by a hard wired switch using the CAN connector for systems without the data connection

Integration of ABS 48 volt battery with Victron
Energy Solutions are able to offer full CAN based integration with Victron GX devices – allowing for all the integration advantages that this offers.
The 48 volt ABS battery broadcasts voltage, current limits, state of charge and other data which can be read by a GX device (Cerbo or other) and used for data display as well as charging and load control via the DVCC function.
High energy density
- The ABS Alliance battery has a very high energy density making it an ideal candidate for mobile applications.
- A single battery provides 2kW hours of stored energy at a weight of 9.7 kG = 206 watt hours per kG.
- As a comparison, the Victron Super Pack (say 200 ah) has an energy density of 122 watt hours per kG (40% heavier)
- And the most energy dense Victron Smart lithium (12 v 330 Ah) has an energy density of 140 watt hours per kG (32% heavier)

The Battery Management Systems (BMS) are developed using automotive-level design practices with AEC-Q components. The control systems are fully integrated into the product, offering worry-free operation. What's more, communications protocols are available to suit different market sectors: CAN-Open for motive power, SAE J1939 for industrial equipment, and CAN2.0A for EV applications.
