Victron Orion XS 1400 DC‑DC Buck‑Boost Charger
The Orion XS 1400 is Victron’s next‑generation, non‑isolated smart DC‑DC buck‑boost charger for dual‑battery systems up to 1 400 W / 50 A. Its wide 9 – 35 V input and 10 – 35 V user‑adjustable output let it stabilise or raise/lower voltage between 12 V and 24 V banks, making it perfect for service batteries in campers, 4×4s, boats and industrial equipment.
Adaptive 4‑stage algorithm & LiFePO₄ safeguards – automatic bulk/absorption/float/storage with low‑temperature shutdown to protect lithium packs.
98.5 % peak efficiency with < 100 mA no‑load draw and < 1.5 mA standby, minimising parasitic losses.
Smart‑alternator friendly – engine‑running detection prevents starter battery drain and complies with Euro 6/7 variable‑voltage alternators.
Fully programmable via Bluetooth (VictronConnect) – set charge current in 0.1 A steps, voltage set‑points, input‑voltage lock‑outs and more.
Comprehensive protection – short‑circuit (50 A constant), over‑temperature, over‑voltage and reverse‑polarity safeguards; remote on/off terminals for system interlock.
Rugged, compact build: anodised aluminium IP65 enclosure, vibration‑resistant potting, 138 × 124 × 53 mm, 0.52 kg – easy to mount even in tight engine bays or consoles.

Manufactured In the UK
We design and manufacture a wide range of products in our factory in the UK. We have invested in state of the art cable processing machines to allow us to automate many aspects of our production, guaranteeing quality and consistency. Our engineering department use advanced mechanical and electrical design tools to drive this process, and we use computerised testing machines to speed up loom construction and validation. We also have in-house facilities to laser cut and engrave control panels, along with 3D printing for prototyping components. None of this manufacturing would be possible without a skilled team of staff, with years of experience in complex builds.
