MG AFC300 Alternator Field Controller - suitable for 12v, 24v & 48v Alternators & systems. Max. current 300 A
Product Information
The MG AFC 300 alternator regulator protects the connected alternator, ensures optimal battery charging, extends battery life and enhances system reliability. The AFC 300 is fully NMEA2000 compatible and works seamlessly with both the MG Master LV, SmartConnect Series and the SmartLink.
Bluetooth makes it easy to configure and monitor the system with the MG Connect app on your phone. Its advanced features make it an essential device to complete an alternator powered MG battery system.
12 Vdc, 24 Vdc and 48Vdc Alternators
Alternator Protection
The AFC 300 is suitable for 12 V, 24 V and 48 V alternators and capable of handling currents up to 300 A. Automatic Field Polarity Detection can control both N- and P Type alternators.
Temperature and Current Regulation
The integrated shunt continuously monitors and controls the current and temperature status of the alternator. This protects the alternator against overtemperature.
Integrated Load Dump Protection
The built-in Load Dump Protection, a software and hardware overvoltage protection, shields the power electronics and alternator from damage in case of an emergency shutdown.
NMEA2000 and DVCC Compatible
The AFC 300 is fully NMEA2000 compatible
BMS Controlled
When the MG lithium-ion batteries are fully charged, the charge voltage limit will be automatically lowered by the BMS. The AFC 300 will always follow this parameter from the BMS via the NMEA2000 CAN-bus.
Parallel
Connect multiple MG Alternator Field Controllers in parallel and the current will automatically be divided equally. When multiple chargers are connected, the AFC 300 will regulate the current accordingly.
MG Connect App
With the built-in Bluetooth it is possible to configure the AFC 300. Download the MG Connect app to set the temperature and current parameters. Furthermore, use the app to monitor the device parameters, read-out the alternator RPM, perform diagnostics and update to the latest firmware.
Marine is Energy Solutions’ longest established market area, since 1996 we have been working with leading OEM boatbuilders, superyacht owners, boat yards and individual sailing and motor yachts. As well as helping clients find power and control systems that fit their requirements we continually strive to introduce new, innovative products to our customers. We research, design and manufacture in house and provide new ways for our clients to attract customers and set themselves apart in terms of look, efficiency and technology. Working with products from the world’s leading manufacturers we are able to offer clients fully designed systems incorporating all elements form helm panels to tank senders.
Find out moreBattery energy storage can be daunting. We use cutting-edge lithium-ion battery technology for reliable performance and long lifespan. Our solutions range from small-scale 3.6kW battery storage to 500kW large-scale BESS for commercial and utility projects. As one of the UK’s leading battery storage system specialists, we supply hybrid and grid-tied systems across construction, agricultural, manufacturing, telecoms and remote living settings. We’re official distributors for market leading components and assemble all systems in the UK, delivering proven technology backed by engineers who understand your environment.
Find out moreThe move towards net zero and a more sustainable world is driving the electrification of many vehicles and onboard equipment that would have traditionally been powered by fossil fuel combustion engines. Energy Solutions' extensive experience and engineering expertise in battery and inverter systems position us well to support and assist clients as they progress towards their own sustainability goals by developing new ways of powering their systems.

Find out moreWe design and manufacture a wide range of products in our factory in the UK. We have invested in state of the art cable processing machines to allow us to automate many aspects of our production, guaranteeing quality and consistency. Our engineering department use advanced mechanical and electrical design tools to drive this process, and we use computerised testing machines to speed up loom construction and validation. We also have in-house facilities to laser cut and engrave control panels, along with 3D printing for prototyping components. None of this manufacturing would be possible without a skilled team of staff, with years of experience in complex builds.
We work with leading international manufacturers and distribute their products in order to supply our customers with a complete electrical power, monitoring and control solution. We work with some of the biggest names in each market sector and have established ourselves as a key supplier bringing new ideas and technical updates on a continual basis.
During your project, Energy Solutions will be with you every step of the way, from initial consultation to final implementation. Our engineering team will provide comprehensive drawing packages, both 2D and 3D as appropriate, and will assist during commissioning phases. Post-project, our service team will take over to provide ongoing support in the field.
