Connectivity of Victron GX MFD Brings Simplified Design and Versatility of Function

The new HTML5 integration between Victron power electronics and MFD (Multi Function Displays) effectively allows boat electrical systems to be monitored on the display at the helm. This new feature allows for a simple connection between the helm display and a Victron GX device allowing owners to see, monitor and control all connected Victron equipment via their main display. Connecting a GX device to the MFD couldn’t be simpler – just plug a standard network cable (RJ45) into both devices and the MFD will ‘discover’ the GX and add the app icon.

HTML5 connectivity is currently available with selected MFD’s from Garmin, Raymarine and Navico. Once connected brings a Victron App to the home screen.

GX products are Victron's state-of-the-art monitoring solution. The family consists of the different GX products including Color Control, Venus GX and the new Cerbo GX.

The GX-device lies at the heart of the electrical system - providing monitoring and operating as the communication-centre of your installation. All the other system-components - such as inverter/chargers, solar chargers, and batteries - are connected to it.

Once connected to the MFD owners can navigate from the initial screen to see shore power and generator information, inverter and charger data, battery levels and AC load information.

ll information can be viewed on one screen, and levels can be monitored and controlled from the main screen.

Explains Paul Holland MD at Energy Solutions: “This is a great feature for boat builders and owners as so many vessels already have MFD’s  installed, they can now access all the great functionality and information that is available from the Victron system in one place.”
